HOVERCRAFT
The Australian Hovercraft Federation (AHF) is a non-profit organisation established for the
benefit of light hovercraft owners, and is the prime organisation for recreational / leisure
hovercraft within Australia. Although it consists of three primary state branches, Victoria, New
South Wales and Queensland, members can be found throughout most states.
The principal aims of the Club are to encourage the safe operation of light hovercraft for
recreational use and to provide assistance in the design and construction of these craft.
Hovercraft travel on a low-pressure cushion of air with the hull well clear of the surface, hence
there is no bow wave or wash to damage the shoreline or disturb marine life. Hovercraft - the closest feeling you'll ever get to flying on a magic carpet.
